We had such a wonderful vacation last month! We're all going through withdrawal now that we're home. I'll try to get some pictures up soon - we went ice skating and skiing and shopping, celebrated birthdays, Christmas, and New Years, and enjoyed every moment with our family. We brought our camera, but I don't think it got used because we quickly lost it in all the luggage, so all our pictures will be coming from our phones. Not ideal, but better than nothing!
After we got home and greeted our lonely cats, we set to the task of unloading our packed-to-overflowing car. Somewhere in the confusion of all that, Swams snuck out of the house, unnoticed. :( Now she is gone... We are all sad - even Silly yowls and whines and searches for Swams. :( :( :( We hope she comes back...
On top of missing Swams, my heart is breaking all over again with the desire to have more children. Every month is hard, but some months are harder than others. We wanted sooo badly to be able to tell family this Christmas that we were expecting our second child, but that didn't happen. And now I'm starting another semester of classes and all of us students have to introduce ourselves to each other. It seems like every other girl in my classes has included in their introduction something like, "We just found out we're pregnant, and it was so fun telling our family at Christmas!" Each holiday and birthday that passes is another time that I get so excited, thinking "Now would be the perfect time to be able to tell so-and-so that we're pregnant!" But we can't exactly tell someone we're pregnant when we're not...
Comfort came to me this morning during my "scripture study" of General Conference addresses. Neil L. Andersen spoke at this last Conference, and his talk was titled "Children." In his talk, he said:
"The bearing of children can also be a heartbreaking subject for righteous couples who marry and find that they are unable to have the children they so anxiously anticipated or for a husband and wife who plan on having a large family but are blessed with a smaller family.
We cannot always explain the difficulties of our mortality. Sometimes life seems very unfair—especially when our greatest desire is to do exactly what the Lord has commanded. As the Lord’s servant, I assure you that this promise is certain: “Faithful members whose circumstances do not allow them to receive the blessings of eternal marriage and parenthood in this life will receive all promised blessings in the eternities, [as] they keep the covenants they have made with God.”"
Of course, this thought doesn't always comfort me, but today it does. We are very blessed!

My heart aches for you because of your righteous desires to have another child. I know that you have been blessed with one of the most precious spirits that Heavenly Father has. In these times I'm sure that doesn't soothe the soul as much as you wish. I love and miss you guys soooo much, and wish too, that you could have announced to all of us of your expecting a new one. But...look for the day, even if in the eternities, when we can have children without numbers. Bless you!!! Mom Muench
