Family Reunion

This week my brothers and their families are all in town for a little family reunion!  :)  Unfortunately, Ryan, Rebecca, and I all have yucky colds! :(  We missed out on the first two days of fun, but we were able to join the family yesterday evening, and we had a blast! :) :) :)

For dinner, my mom put together a fun little "activity."  After each family was loaded into their own vehicle, Mom and Dad passed out an envelope to each family.  We opened our envelopes at the same time, and here's what the paper inside said:

Mission Impromptu

The roving Hollinger hoards have invaded their ancestral home and have spent several days plundering and making merry.  Because of their merrymaking, the stores of provisions have been depleted and the hoards are becoming restless and in need of sustenance.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to acquire one part of a meal for the entire hoard without spending over $10, and return to the ancestral home before the hour is out.  Receipts will need to be provided to prove the accomplishment of this assignment within the guidelines of the mission.

Good Luck

This message will self-destruct in five seconds.
(Just kidding.)

:)  Isn't that awesome!  :)  Ryan was driving, so we were the first to take off.  :)  My brothers got a kick out of seeing our Prius "peel out" (not really, but Ryan did floor it).  :)  Ryan, Nicole, and I have been watching Amazing Race, so we really got into it, wanting to be the first "team" to make it back.  ;)  And we were! ;)

So, here's what we had for dinner last night:
We brought: Angel hair pasta with pesto
Jake & Ashley brought: Homemade spinach dip with bread
Jeremy & Sarah brought: An assortment of french fries (curly, crinkle cut, and regular)
Jason & Angela brought: Fresh, green salad
Mom & Dad brought: Ice cream and cookies (to make ice cream sandwiches)

I was really surprised that no one brought the same thing!  The meal turned out to be pretty tasty, too! :)  Most of all, it was fun!  The rest of the evening was spent chatting and watching The Lego Movie.  :)

Today we get to go have a picnic in the park, go to the zoo, and then have dinner at Leo's Place.  Hopefully I'll get some pictures to share!
