Moving Day is Set!

We found out today that Ryan is all set to be transferred to the facility in Idaho Falls tomorrow!!! 💜💜💜💜💜 I spoke to the admissions coordinator there, and she said that after he's been there for a week, they will have a group meeting with all of the therapists working with him to set a goal date for him to go home! 💜💜💜💜💜

Ryan has been able to eat food today! Hash browns and bacon for breakfast, and pasta and fish for lunch. We talked on the phone this afternoon, and he told me how nice it was to eat, and how hard he has been working. His physical therapist had him sit up and stand up from his bed by himself today! And Ryan was walking with a walker -- his physical therapist said he went about 165 feet by himself! Ryan said it completely wore him out, but we are so proud of him! 💜💜💜 We cannot wait to get back to Idaho on Wednesday and see all of his progress firsthand!

Ryan also requested to have his beard shaved off today! That picture took me by surprise, as I haven't seen Ryan beardless in at least ten years! Nicole thought at first that it was Ryan's brother, Tom, in the picture. 😮 What do you think?!

In New York, we had a great day today, though we were missing Ryan a lot! First we went to Corning and we each made a work of art in glass. I'll show pictures of our projects after we get home, as they are being shipped home for us. It was lots of fun though!

Then we spent the afternoon hiking at Watkins Glen State Park -- it was amazing!!! We hiked up a gorge and saw lots of beautiful waterfalls! My phone pedometer registered it as the equivalent of climbing 48 flights of stairs today (for the whole day, not just the hiking)! 😯 I'm going to be feeling that tomorrow (in fact, I'm already feeling it now)!
