Last night wasn't the greatest. I think it's especially hard for Ryan at night because that is when his body is used to being awake (he loves working night shifts because he is such a night owl). It's hard for him to get comfortable, and being in pain just makes things worse. But we made it through the night with lots of prayer and help from both sides of the veil.
This morning Ryan has been aware of things a little more. Our bishop and his wonderful wife came to visit again, and left us with a beautiful blessing and prayer. He also gave us a CD of a talk given by the football player Chad Lewis, called "Decide Now to Surround Yourself with Greatness." Ryan and I listened to it, and Ryan shed some tears as he heard of the stroke that Chad's father suffered and how he worked hard to overcome it (and the doctors' predictions that he would never walk again). It's a great talk! If you get the chance, you should definitely give it a listen! 💜 Ryan also smiled and laughed at several of the jokes in the talk. :) His smile is my favorite thing to see!
Ryan has lifted his head a few times this morning. Just now he had an itch on his nose, and he tried to bring his head towards his hands to scratch it. I made him try two more times before I helped him out, and he got pretty close!!! He tensed and raised his arms about an inch, and brought his head forward a good 4 or 5 inches!
Once again, thank you for all of your prayers and support!!! 💗💖💙💚💛💜💟
