After a rough day yesterday, and a rough night last night, Ryan's pain continued to escalate this morning. I felt like the staff assigned to Ryan weren't taking his pain seriously, and they weren't getting back with me when I asked questions, so I finally went to the nurse's station and found an awesome nurse that had been assigned to Ryan earlier in the week. She walked me right to the people in charge and got Ryan what he needed right away! It was such a relief (for Ryan and for me), after hours of Ryan struggling and asking "Why is the pain so bad?!", when they finally gave him a dose of Fentanyl through his mid-line, and within minutes he was relaxed and peaceful. We've been trying to stay away from the opioids, and the doctor even said that he rarely prescribes them, but in Ryan's case he felt that Fentanyl was necessary to get Ryan the relief he needed.
Not much happens here over the weekend. We are waiting for the results of the ultrasound that they did on Ryan's legs this morning (checking for blood clots). And Ryan has enjoyed getting ice chips, when he hasn't been in too much pain. We are both REALLY looking forward to seeing our girls this evening, and other family that will be visiting this weekend. We are so incredibly grateful for everyone who has been helping us out by watching and taking care of our girls. 💜💜💜 And all of your texts, comments, and words of encouragement mean a lot to Ryan. Thank you!
God is still good! Miracles continue to happen! And I'm really looking forward to the Sabbath day tomorrow! 😌

Dont let them slack on the pain meds. Most of them have no idea what it feels like to deal with chronic pain. You have to stay on top of it. Love you to pieces!!!!
