Ryan is extra stiff and sore today. It seems like every time he wakes up enough to do his range-of-motion exercises with me, someone else comes in to work with him. He tried really hard with physical and speech therapy today, but his back was hurting so bad that he wasn't able to sit up for long, and then he fell asleep pretty quickly after they laid him back down on the bed. The therapists were proud of him for pushing himself, but reminded him that it's good to rest, too.
The doctor decided we could start Ryan on a small dose of muscle relaxer (baclofen) to see if that helps with the soreness.
Ryan's face has been feeling itchy this afternoon, and he's trying so hard to get his hands up to his face to scratch the itches himself.
We finally have the exact time of his MRI on Monday -- he is scheduled to leave this hospital at 6:15am in order to check in at the other hospital at 7am. We may be able to try the MRI without sedation, since he is much more aware and in better control of his body, but we'll have to see what the doctors there think.
A dear friend came to visit today. She brought our mail and took me out to lunch. We feel very blessed to have so many people who care about us! 💕💖 And we're really looking forward to visits with family this weekend!
God is good! Miracles happen every day! Prayers for Ryan being able to get through these new pains would be appreciated.
