Getting into the swing of things

Ryan still faces many challenges on a daily basis, but he is also making great progress! Trying to sort through and fold laundry is difficult for him, but he was able to make up a pot of mac & cheese yesterday for lunch! He also cleaned the inside of our giant living room window, which wasn't an easy task! He's trying to stay busy and figure out what he still can do so that he doesn't get weighed down with thoughts of all that he cannot yet do. He misses reading books aloud to us, though he has been able to read more and more at a time (it just makes his head hurt and confuses him sometimes).

Today Ryan wanted to get a few things from Home Depot for small projects around the house. We walked about a mile in total, which was exhausting, but he's doing so well! We're still waiting to find out when and how often he will have out-patient physical therapy, but I think he is working out pretty well on his own in the meantime!

School has begun, and both of our girls are LOVING it! When Becca got home from school today, she just wanted to turn around and go right back instead of waiting for tomorrow to come. :) She loves everything about school so far! Nicole is also excited to see her friends each day, and so far she is liking her teachers and classes. One of her teachers is doing a contest to see who can keep their binder organized throughout the trimester, and Nicole is determined to win because organization has become one of her favorite things this past year!

The dogs have been VERY happy to be home! I hope our neighbors don't mind Nyx's barking too much... Watching the dogs run around the backyard and play with the girls brings us a lot of joy. They were sorely missed this summer, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped to take care of them!!!

Tonight Ryan has his sleep study scheduled. They will hook him up to lots and lots of leads, and he will try to sleep while they monitor him. Hopefully it all goes well! But we won't get the results of this study for two weeks...waiting is the name of the game!

We have been so grateful for God's timing this summer. No one could have planned this summer better than God did, with all that there was to plan! I am grateful for a loving Father in Heaven who guides our lives and helps us to become all that we can be! Have you taken the time to notice God's great timing in your life lately?
